One of my favorite magazines (for business) is “Success” Magazine.

This month’s issue had a great article by Jim Cathcart who I have talked about a lot. He is the author of “Relationship Selling”. Here are 5 Tips form his article called “Relationship Intelligence - Value People, Boost Your Sales”

1. Approach each contact as the beginning of a long-term High-Value Relationship. Expect great things over the long run., and do your part to help both of you achieve your desired outcomes.

2. Plan to be loyal to your customers whether they are loyal to you or not. And be trustworthy so they will want to be loyal in turn.

3. Continually ask yourself, “What else could I do for them without asking for something else?”

4. Give them the option to occasionally “have a bad day” without becoming upset or judgemental toward them. Nobody is always at their best.

5. Don’t always ask for something, occasionally just give them something or just listen to them without trying to “fix” them or sell to them.

A Simple Daily Activity that will Change Your Life

Someone once said “you will be changed most in life by the people you meet”. The people that are in your life (or that could be) can have a dramatic impact on your success.

I don’t mean that they influence you or change you because they have to have your permission to do that. But people who encourage you give you confidence and courage. When you are discouraged, they lift you up. I was talking to my friend John Browning the other day, and we discussed a few things - just life stuff - and at the end of the call he said “you’re awesome!”. Many times we might close the phone call with “I love you” because we are that close.

The point is that we need to have people on our dream team. We need to have people in our lives that care about us and our success.

It is up to us to foster those relationships. One of the simple ways to do that has gone by the wayside with e-mail and texting. An art that the “old timers” such as Mary Kay Ash and Dale Carnegie used.

The same technique that was such a great relationship builder that it turned auto salesman Joe Girard into the “world’s greatest salesman” according to the Guiness Book of World Records.

What is that simple technique? Writing personal notes and sending personal heartfelt greeting cards.

Send one card a day and you will bless 365 people a year and your life will be changed. Guaranteed.

To make your card sending easier than ever, use Send Out Cards. Go to www.SendOutCards.com/7162 and try it for free.

“What controls your mind controls your life”

I just cracked open last month’s issue of Success Magazine which is one of my favorite magazines. The reason I am just now getting to last month’s issue is that I am “behind” on my reading!  It seems that so many things… presentations, meetings, projects, webinars, HURRICAINES! etc. are taking precedence.

Last night I stayed late after our local Send Out Cards meeting talking to my good friend Dave Frey at a downtown Houston restaurant. I am NOT one to stay up late - in fact, I have been known to go to bed at 9:00!

So, I wake up today with many more presentations, calls, e-mails and projects to take care of, feeling overwhelmed. I normally at least read at least 15 minutes in the morning and read a chapter out of the bible and most days I listen to at least one “business building” CD - sometimes more (a far cry from Zig Ziglar’s 3 hours of reading per day!) and I came across an article by the editor of Success Magazine…

”What controls your mind, controls your life”. How true.

According to my friend and psycologist Dr. Cecil Cockerham, our thoughts trigger emotions. Whatever THOUGHTS and EMOTIONS we dwell on become our BELIEFS. Our beliefs alter our EXPECTATIONS which in turn effects our ATTITUDE. Our attitude determines our BEHAVIOR. Our behavior determines our PERFORMANCE which changes our results. Our RESULTS change our LIVES.

So, change your THINKING and you change your LIFE.

Zig Ziglar was a huge hit at my Round Table

Julie and Zig Ziglar

I am completely overwhelmed that the one and only, world famous Zig Ziglar appeared at my Round Table. I want to give a big thank you to Margaret Garrett, Tom Ziglar and Julie Ziglar for making it a huge success.

For a solid 45 minutes, wisdom flowed from Zig. It was electric! The audience loved him and it was a real treat.

 See ya!
